who are we?

We are a student party that aims to be a link between all intersectional, decolonial, radical, leftist and progressive students and staff at the University of Amsterdam.

For the last 3 years we’ve been one of the most active voices within the UvA student councils, working on cutting ties with fossil fuel interests, fighting for the rights of international students and aiding in the academic boycott of universities complicit in genocide.

The Activistenpartij UvA is an active community of students, student-organisations and staff that want to enact radical change in our university, from within the university system as well as from the outside.

We believe education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background or financial situation. We’re fighting for affordable housing, fair tuition, and better mental health resources.

We demand bold climate action, divestment from unethical corporations, and a commitment to decolonization in education.

Students and staff should have real influence on university decisions. We’re working towards a stronger medezeggenschap with more democratic rights for the student body.

Education should inspire curiosity and critical thinking, not just prepare students for the labor market in the fastest way possible.

You can have a say in what happens at the university from within the ‘medezeggenschap’ system. Our growing presence within the councils secures our spot at the university.

Candidate applications are closed but be sure to vote for us in the 2025 UvA elections so our movement can continue to grow!
